The Trivium Order is supported by membership from those who enter it, ensuring commitment and sustaining the work of the Order. A limited number of Scholarships are granted each year for exceptionally capable young men who cannot afford the membership. These places are reserved for applicants who demonstrate unusual clarity of thought, intellectual discipline, and seriousness of purpose.
To request a Scholarship, submit all three of the following:
Write a 1500-word essay defending a clear claim. State your thesis in the opening paragraph, support it with structured reasoning, and respond directly to at least one serious objection before concluding.
Write an additional 1000 words to select a specific argument and analyse its structure. Identify the main claim, list the key premises, and explain your conclusion logically follows. Point out where it fails.
Record a 5–10 minute video explaining your essay from both sides of the question or debate. Present each side accurately and fairly, then explain which position you judge to be stronger, fairer, and why.
Send your application by email to [email protected], include your name, location, and your essay and analysis in TEXT ONLY FORMAT in the email, and a link to a recorded explanation. All three are required.
Scholarships are awarded only to applicants who demonstrate exceptional intellectual promise. Please note that we cannot accept applications with essays attached as separate documents. Your essay must be included directly in the body of the email in plain text format, or your application will unfortunately be rejected by the system.
