I commit myself to the Trivium.
Every day I sharpen my mind, strengthen my
reasoning, and master my speech.
I am becoming a man who thinks clearly.
My confusion evaporates as clarity grows within me.
I define my words and examine my beliefs.
I refuse careless thinking and empty speech.
I do not speak to sound wise; I speak to be clear.
I do not argue to defeat a man; I argue to find what is true.
I do not persuade to win; I persuade to move men toward truth.
I welcome challenge, because challenge strengthens the mind.
When I am wrong, I correct myself and grow stronger.
Every day my reasoning becomes sharper.
Every day my speech becomes more disciplined.
Every day my judgment becomes stronger.
I am training my mind, I am strengthening my voice.
I am forging the man I am meant to become.
Through clarity, reason, and disciplined speech,
I become worthy of the Trivium Order.
Find a quiet place where you will not be disturbed. Stand or sit upright. Speak the covenant out loud, with emotion, deliberately, as if you mean and feel every word. Repeat it three times. Practice it every day. Over time the words move from something you read to something you believe. Through repetition and conviction the discipline of the Trivium becomes part of how you think, speak, and carry yourself.
